Check out this June 29-July 1 Summer Camp at a great price! Seth Gross from South Dakota State will be conducting a 3-day camp at Owatonna High School for only $35. Gross recently took 2nd Place at the Division I NCAA national tournament. Gross is also 3x state champion from Apple Valley, 3x Fargo champion, and member of 2016 Junior World team.

Those in need of a sports physical this upcoming school year, there will be a free screening date on August 2nd (6:00 – 7:00 PM) at Mayo Clinic in Faribault. You MUST have the Exam Form filled out before they come to the appointment. The free sports physical session are available for those entering grades 7 – 12 and good for three years.

It is with a sad heart the wrestling community lost legendary Coach and great friend to so many. Dick Shiels, coach of the Falcons for 26 years, passed away Sunday, May 21. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 3-7 PM at Boldt Funeral Home, and funeral on Wednesday morning at 10:30AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

This spring, we are joining the Falcon and Raider Wrestling Programs!
Coach Casteel will coach each practice session and attend most weekend tournaments. Every Monday (6:30-8:00pm) practice will be held in Faribault and every Wednesday (6:30-8:00pm) practice will be held at Northfield. He will be alternating Freestyle and Greco practice at each location.
There is no cost to join this program and we encourage all incoming 6th graders through High School level wrestler to take advantage of this great opportunity. The only fees you will have are those associated with competing in individual tournaments.

The Falcons will have five individuals head into the high school State tournament. Felipe Ramirez (195 lbs), Austin Rendler (220), and Dillon McEachran (Hwt) were Section champions, while Josh Oathoudt (126) and Cain VanRyn (132) finished in second-place at the Section 1AAA tournament.
The Individual portion of the state tournament will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday morning (3/3) with the Class AAA starting at 1:oo PM. On Saturday morning , wrestling begins at 9:00 AM with a consolation round for all classes followed by championship semifinals at 10:15 AM. Wrestling concludes with 3rd and 5th Place matches at 4:00 PM followed by the championships at 6:30. There will be a welcome home Pancake Breakfast this coming Sunday at the Eagles!

Due to the pending weather, the Individual Section schedule has changed. Instead of wrestling on Friday and Saturday, the tournament will be run ALL on Saturday (no wrestling on Friday). The team bus will still leave on Thursday evening after practice in order to get ahead of the snow and blizzard conditions expected.

The Falcons will host Austin this Thursday, 2/16, at Nomeland Gymnasium in the quarterfinals of the Section 1AAA team tournament. The winner will wrestle the Lakeville South-Mayo winner at 3PM on Saturday afternoon at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center. The Section finals will take place at 5PM.
