What a difference one week can make! A week after dropping two duals to Owatonna and Farmington by a combined score of 91-37, the Falcons sent Owatonna packing 35-25 in the semifinals of the Section 1AAA team tournament in Rochester. It was the first win over Owatonna in the past 19 years, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The win put the Falcons into the finals against Farmington, ranked #5 in the State. And the Falcons put a scare into Farmington this time around before falling short 38-30. The Falcons took the lead 27-23 after a pin from fired-up senior Ike Van Thomme. Next up for the Falcons will be Individual Sections this Friday and Saturday at the Rochester Civic Center.

The Falcons will get their chance to avenge its loss from last week with a semifinal match-up against Owatonna. The dual will be at the Rochester Civic Center at 1:00 this Saturday (2/13). In the opening round on Thursday, the Falcons hosted Northfield and came away with a convincing 47-11 win.

After building up an impressive run to a 17-2 record, the Falcons dropped on a pair of duals on back-to-back nights (Feb 4 and Feb 5). The Falcons, 17-4, will still hold the 3rd Seed in the Section 1AAA tournament and will host Northfield on Thursday, February 11 at 7:00. The winner will advance to Rochester Civic Center on Saturday at 1:00.

Busy weekend for the Falcons beginning with a 71-12 conference road win at Rochester Century on Friday (1/29). Click here for Falcons vs Century story The Falcons then traveled to Robbinsdale Armstrong for weekend tournament and came away with three wins to improve to 17-2 record. During the day, senior Tony Avila reached career win #100. Over at the Ninth Grade State Tournament, Josh Heyda finished in 7th Place. The Falcons host Owatonna this Friday (2/5) on Senior Night.

Josh Heyda, 170-pound bracket, won the Region 1 Qualifier for the Ninth Grade State Tournament. The qualifier title advances Heyda to the 9th Grade State Tournament on January 30 at Champlin Park. Josh Outhoudt and Ethan Erickson finished 2nd, DylandLippert and Will Erickson took 4th place, while Riley Stoltz and Austin Underdahl battled back for 5th place finishes.

The Falcons hosted Mankato West and Winona on Thursday (1/21) and walked out of Nomeland Gymnasium with two more impressive wins. The Falcons kicked off the night with a 59-15 rout of the Winona Winhawks, and then finished the evening by dismantling Mankato West 57-24.

The Falcons notched three more wins with a 3-0 night at the Henry Sibley Quadrangular on Friday (1/15). The Falcons picked up wins over Blaine (59-10), Lakeville North (51-16), and Henry Sibley (45-15).
