In addition to the 7-8th Grade team wrestling at NYWA State this weekend, the Green Machine will have four individuals wrestling in the 7-8th state tournament and three more in the K-6th state tournament. Bo Bokman and Charlie Chambers advanced to NYWA State with first-place finishes at NYWA Regions, while Riley Stoltz, JT Hausen, and Elliott Viland advanced with second-place finishes. Madden Paul and Will Erickson advance with third-place finishes. Also wrestling this weekend at the NYWA Invite tournament by placing 4-6th place at NYWA Regions are Jayden Jirele, Logan Vargo, Trevor Holmberg, Cole Redding, Aiden Tobin, Bryce Nolen, Dylan Lippert, and Alex Hoy. The 7-8th Grade Team will wrestle on Thursday and Friday afternoon.

The Green Machine qualified 23 youth wrestlers from the districts qualifier tournaments. They will wrestle in Bryon this weekend, 3/18 and 3/19, at the NYWA Regions. Grades 5-8 will wrestle on Friday evening, while Grades K-4 will wrestle on Saturday. The top 3 in each respective age/weight class will advance to NYWA State which takes place March 31-April 3. A club-record 20 youth wrestlers will qualified for the MNUSA State Tournament (takes place at Rochester Community College this weekend March 11-13). The Green Machine competed in the Championship Bracket of the 48-team “Brawl” at STMA on Sunday, Jan 24. The tournament boasts as the largest K-6 Youth Wrestling Tournament in the World. The Green Machine finished 23rd out of the 48 teams with 2-3 record. All three losses came down to the final match with one ending in a 40-40 tie and lost dual on criteria. The Green Machine ended the day with a 59-18 rout of Osseo. Bo Bokman, Elliott Viland, JT Hausen, and Aiden Tobin ended the day with 5-0 records. Logan Vargo had four wins.

Josh Heyda, 170-pound bracket, won the Region 1 Qualifier for the Ninth Grade State Tournament. The qualifier title advances Heyda to the 9th Grade State Tournament on January 30 at Champlin Park. Josh Outhoudt and Ethan Erickson finished 2nd, DylandLippert and Will Erickson took 4th place, while Riley Stoltz and Austin Underdahl battled back for 5th place finishes.

The Falcons hosted Mankato West and Winona on Thursday (1/21) and walked out of Nomeland Gymnasium with two more impressive wins. The Falcons kicked off the night with a 59-15 rout of the Winona Winhawks, and then finished the evening by dismantling Mankato West 57-24.

The Falcons notched three more wins with a 3-0 night at the Henry Sibley Quadrangular on Friday (1/15). The Falcons picked up wins over Blaine (59-10), Lakeville North (51-16), and Henry Sibley (45-15).
