Falcons send 5 Section 1AAA champions to State!

by tobin on March 3rd, 2022

The Falcons sent 5 into the Section 1AAA finals and came away with 5 champions.  JT Hausen (120 lbs), Bo Bokman (126), Isaac Yetzer (145), Aiden Tobin (152), and Gabe Shatskikh (220) all won section titles and advanced to the Minnesota State Tournament.  Hausen, Tobin, and Shatskikh were all #1 seeds in their brackets, while Bokman and Yetzer both were #2 seeds.  It was the most individuals advancing to the State Tournament since 2017 when the Falcons also advanced five.  Elliott Viland (132) just missed the state tournament with a 3rd Place finish, while Lucas Nelson (113) and Hunter Conrad (138) finished with 4th Place finishes.  Cooper Leichtnam (160) avenged a loss weeks earlier to finish 5th in a tough 160-lb bracket.
