One of the top middleweight wrestlers ever at Augsburg, Tousignant was a key member of Auggie teams that were part of the ascent to national dominance in small-college wrestling. After transferring to Augsburg from the United States Naval Academy, Tousignant was a two-time National Tournament qualifier at 150 pounds, and earned All-American honors in 1991 after finished second nationally. A two-time MIAC champion, Tousignant finished his Augsburg career with a 90-7-3 overall record, including a 44-3-2 record during his senior season as a member of the Auggies’ first NCAA national championship team. A NWCA Scholar All-American during the 1991 season, Tousignant earned Augsburg Honor Athlete honors as a senior.
Following his graduation from Augsburg in 1991 with a degree in math education, he taught math and coached football, wrestling and golf in the Faribault public school system until 2001. Most recently, Tousignant worked as an investment banker with Wells Fargo before becoming a co-owner of Retirement Consultants financial planning company in Hastings, Minn. Tousignant and his wife,Tricia, have four children — Halle, Jack, Rachel and Brandon — and live in Hastings, Minn.

With a record 11 wrestlers advancing to NYWA State, the Green Machine came back with a club record 7 place-winners! Dillon Schrot advanced to the title match with three wins, and came away with second place. Meanwhile, five others placed fifth (Hunter Nelson, Dylan Lippert, Charlie Chambers, David Tonjum, Levi Kuschel) and Ryan Mullennex placed sixth on Friday evening in the 7/8th Grade State Tournament. Other wrestlers advancing to State were Jathyn Hausen, Aiden Tobin, Brandon Knott, and Cy Kuschel. The Green Machine also had three wrestlers (Landon Hatfield, Riley Stoltz, and Tar Tut) participating in the Invite Tournament also held in Rochester. The Green Machine qualified its most ever NYWA state entrants with 11 wrestlers advancing (previous most was 4). Hunter Nelson (2nd Grade) and Ryan Mullennex (8th Grade) both were crowned regional champions. Jathyn Hausen (K), Aiden Tobin (2nd Grade), Charlie Chambers (4th Grade), David Tonjum (4th Grade), Dillon Schrot (6th Grade), and Brandon Knott (6th Grade) each reached the finals and placed second. Levi Kuschel (6th Grade) and Cy Kuschel (8th Grade) both placed third, while Dylan Lippert (4th Grade) advanced with a fourth-place finish in his bracket. Tar Tut will also wrestle this coming weekend in a separate Invite Tournament.
